Ukraine is capable of playing a key role in overcoming famine in the world. For many years, the country’s farm sector has produced more agricultural products than are needed on the domestic market, which makes Ukraine a promising potential supplier of food to world markets. In addition, the domestic farm sector can significantly increase its output, the only contingent being investment. Deputy Minister for Agricultural Policy and Food Oleksandr Sen spoke during a panel discussion called “Eastern Europe as a key region for overcoming challenges in food security,” which took place in Berlin during an exhibition called International Green Week 2014.
