EU releases EUR 250 million in non-repayable aid to Ukraine

The European Union has released EUR 250 million as the first tranche of its non-repayable aid to Ukraine, the EU representative office in Ukraine announces. These funds are provided in the framework of a project to reform and develop Ukraine worth a total of EUR 355mn.

Agricultural Ministry talks support for small, mid-sized farms

On June, 2014, Ukraine’s Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Ihor Shvaika met with managers and experts from the OECD’s Eurasia Competitiveness Program. Ukraine increases production of sunflower oil by 22%

Over January-April, 2014, Ukraine’s production of unrefined sunflower oil was 1.5mn tonnes, or 22.2% more than in the same period of 2013, Derzhkomstat, the state statistics agency of Ukraine, reported.

Ukraine expects to increase the export of poultry by 150%

Ukrainian poultry meat producers are planning to export nearly 170,000-180,000 tonnes of chicken meat in 2014, including EU markets, says Oleksandr Bakumenko, President of the Union of Poultry Breeders of Ukraine.
