Ukraine hopes to expand cooperation with Qatar

Ukraine hopes to expand political, commercial and cultural cooperation with Qatar, said President Viktor Yanukovych in his welcoming address to the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamada bin Khalifs al-Thani on the occasion of that country’s 39^th anniversary of independence.

“Ukraine places considerable significance on the continuing expansion of political, commercial and cultural cooperation with the State of Qatar,” said the greeting.

In addition, the Head of State expressed confidence that under the rule of the Emir, Qatar will continue to show a high standard of economic progress.

Mr. Yanukovych also wished the Sheikh good health and success in his public activities and wished the people of Qatar peace, success and prosperity.

Qatar earlier expressed interest in investing in Ukraine’s farm sector, telecommunications and high technology.
