January 7, 2016
"2015 became a year of implementation of the Ukrainian agricultural export potential. As of today, Ukrainian farmers supply their products to over 190 countries around the world," said Oleksiy Pavlenko, Ukraine’s Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.
According to Pavlenko, in 2015 nine countries opened their markets for more than 80 Ukrainian meat and dairy companies. 10 Ukrainian dairy producers entering the EU market is among the recent achievements.
Furthermore, speaking of this year’s successes, the European Investment Bank opened a EUR 400 million credit line for Ukrainian agrarians; moreover, the investment and business climate was improved within the domestic agricultural sector.
In particular, the Ministry launched deregulation of the industry as to reduce the administrative burden for enterprises and minimize risks of corruption. In 2015, 42 previously mandatory for obtaining permits were repealed and more than 50 changes to the legislation were made with the support of the Ministry. An estimated economic effect of deregulation, according to business associations, reaches USD 12 billion.
