Ukrainian wheat is in great demand in the EU

The European Commission issued an impressive weekly total of soft wheat import licenses to Ukraine within the 2016 tariff quota. The weekly license amounted to 41,516 tons. The annual import tariff quota allowance for Ukrainian wheat (950,000 tons) has already been used up by 35%.
For reference, EU’s weekly licenses for poor and medium quality wheat imports from other third countries amounted to 2,819 tons.
Notably, 100% of the annual import quota for Ukrainian maize (400,000 tons) was taken up within a week.
