Ukraine exports 16.4mn t grain so far in this marketing year

Ukraine has exported nearly 16.4 million tonnes of grain since the beginning of the 2013/2014 marketing year (June-July), according to the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food.
Ukraine’s grain exports so far included 7.63mn t of wheat, 5.17mn tonnes of maize, 3.37mn t of barley, and 189,000 t of other grains. An additional 403,000 t have been loaded on ships ready to leave port.
Over the 2013/2014 marketing year, Ukraine’s total grain export volumes have amounted to 32.4mn t, which is 42.1% more than last year. In 2013, Ukraine yielded a record grain harvest of nearly 63mn t.
According to Agricultural Ministry projections, Ukraine’s yields of grain and legumes could reach 64mn t in 2014, despite the loss of Crimea and harvests in war-torn Donbas region.
