Top-5 agricultural oblasts yield the best harvests in Ukraine

Ukraine is a unique country, in that all its oblasts are suitable for farming. However, five regions yield the best crops.
The bulk of Ukraine’s farmland is used to grow wheat, maize and barley. In 2014, grain crops occupied 148,000 sq mi, which is more that the size of England—130,000 sq mi.
Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa Oblasts have the largest sowing areas, at 1,968,000 ha and 1,764,000 ha, according to the Top-5 farming oblasts rating prepared by Baker Tilly Ukraine. They are followed by Vinnytsia Oblast (1,614,000 ha), Kirovohrad Oblast (1,610,000 ha) and Kharkiv Oblast (1,590,000 ha).
In 2014, most of crop products were produced in Vinnytsia Oblast—11,039,000 t.
