USDA improves Ukraine’s grain yield forecast

In its February report, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) increased Ukraine’s grain production forecast in the 2015/2016 marketing year to 60.5 million tons, 0.3% more than in January.
The coarse grains export forecast has increased to 20.19 million tons (+ 0.2%). The feed grain harvest evaluation remains the same as in January – 33.25 million tons.
According to the USDA, the wheat harvest will reach 27.25 million tons (+ 0.9%), while wheat export forecast for the current marketing year remains unchanged – 15.5 million tons.
The corn harvest in Ukraine will amount to 23.3 million tons, 0.9% less than in January forecast. And the corn export is expected to reach 15.5 million tons.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine expects that the grain export volume will amount to more than 36 million tons by the end of 2015/2016 marketing year. In 2014/2015 MY, the figure was 34.8 million tons.
