Procures Ukrainian Flour
November 18, 2016
Kulindorovo Bakery Complex (KBC) in Odesa signed a contract with American company on shipping Ukrainian high-grade and first grade flour to the United States. As reported by Ms. Svitlana Panenko, the KBC deputy Director General, this is the first-of-a-kind agreement in Ukrainian history.
“This contract was preceded by a long and thorough work, as American foodstuffs market some import restrictions regulated by the U.S. Congress. We had to undergo plenty of expert evaluations and obtain required documents verifying the quality of our products. We sent several trial consignments to the Company, engaged in negotiation process and finally signed the contract. The first container of flour was shipped to the U.S. yesterday,” she said.
According to Panenko, this is a one-year agreement. On December 25, 550 tons of flour are expected to be shipped overseas. Overall, Odessa millers will ship over 6,600 tons of flour to the United States. Svitlana Panenko specified that the agreement refers to patent flour in which the KBC specializes.
